Två nya förluster för Mosquitoes, i den första matchen hade Sundsvall chansen trots de stora siffrorna, sent i matchen var det underläge med 4-6 och kontakt. I den andra var det inget snack om att gästande Leksand skulle avgå med segern och matchen bröts efter sju innings pga mercy rule.
Jonas Sjölund gör en quality start, Jacopo Bettati och Ryan Arena slår fyra hits vardera, och unge Thomas Ekwall (Enköping) gör elitseriedebut som reliever i bägge matcherna.
Coach Johnny Floegel:
”We did a good job keeping things competitive for the majority of the first game. Little mistakes continue to bite us. We have to be consistent defensively and make the no-excuse plays every time. Our pitchers did a better job of throwing strikes. We continue to find ways to put runs on the board which is a positive takeaway offensively. Olle stepped up and pitched very well after working hard over the week. He focused up and responded to constructive criticism during practice and the efforts reflected in his performance. We will need more of that dedication, work ethic and desire to improve moving forward to remain competitive. Looking forward to seeing how the team responds starting at practice this week before we head into a break.”
Nu väntar interleaguemöte hemma mot Karlskoga på lördag 11 juni innan ett uppehåll i elitserien.
